An incomplete Late Early-Medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) to Medieval cast copper-alloy bridle bit link (1000-1100).The bit link is convex on the upper face and flat at the rear. It is composed of two loops joined by a bar. One of the loops is incomplete and the other one is very worn. Close to one loop there is a circular boss. This link is similar to one described and illustrated in 'Anglo-Scandinavian Horse Harness Fittings' (Williams 2007: 4, fig. 5). Unlike the example in Williams, this bit link does not have knobbed decoration.
The link is 42.1mm long, 16.8mm wide, 6.4mm thick and weighs 8.97 grams.
