Lead weight. Cast discoid weight with a central probably drilled and countersunk (on one side) hole. Patinated overall. The mass may suggest this to represent one half an averdepois pound. Objects of this size, mass and form are sometimes identifiable as pump seal weights. However, this example does not now have features enabling its close fitting with a membrane seal, though the drilling of a hole might have been related to such an adaptation. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1750.
