A cast copper alloy strap end dating to the Medieval period, (AD 1066-1500). The object is rectangular in plan and cross-section. The strap end consists of a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded widthways and secured at the open end with a single rivet. Within the strap end traces of a white material can be seen. The rivet is dark grey in colour and has a diameter of 2.99mm. The object has a mid green patina and can be dated from c.1150-1450. Similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, (1991), p125-131.
