An unpatinated flint object, possibly a core or core rejuvination flake. It is struck from a dark grey flint with no obvious bulb of percussion or striking platform, cortex remaining on one edge. The dorsal(?) face has had one large flake removed, followed by a series of long flake or blade scars. These scars are truncated at the distal(?) end by transverse flake or blade scars. It measures 44.30mm in length, 36.83mm in width, 17.33mm in thickness, and 31.37g in weight. It this is indeed a core then it is likely to date to the Neolithic or Bronze Age periods, c.4000-800 BC, if not slightly earlier.
