TOKEN

Unique ID: BERK-228C1A

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete and worn lead alloy token of probable post-medieval date. The token is bifacial. The obverse has part of a letter, possibly an R, while the reverse has an unclear design, posibly another letter or ligated letters, or possibly a crude image of a human with a staff (a shepherd's crook?). Lead tokens of this type tend to date to the 18th century AD and were probably agricultural tokens or tallies.
