Slightly distorted, probably cast and turned medieval copper alloy domed thimble with a notch in the base. There is a narrow plain band around the base below thirty-eight vertical rows of three and occasionally four round indentations, above which are six rings of the same, with the crown left clear. It is interesting to note that the arrangement of indentations is akin to those found on stamped sheet thimbles (Egan 1998, 266). Diameter c.15mm. Height c.12mm. The wall is up to 0.9mm thick. Mid 14th - mid 15th century.
