An incomplete copper alloy mount of medieval date. The mount is comprised of a trapezoidal plate which expands from the narrower end into a circular plate. Triangular expansions projects from the point at which the two elements meet and the remains of an arm extend from one side of the circular plate. A worn break to the opposite side suggests this projection was mirrored when the object was complete. Two rivet holes are present set centrally, one on the trapezoidal plate the second on the circular plate. An incised border is present on the upper surface and traces of gilding remain. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal has a reddish-green patina and is worn. The mount is 27.7mm long, 10.4mm wide, 1.5mm thick and weighs 1.6g.
