An incomplete, cast copper alloy sword belt fitting of the toggle clasp type dating from the post-Medieval period, AD 1500 - 1700. The remaining portion is one end of the female element of a two part clasp and consists of a rectangular frame with a circular suspension loop beneath the outer end, then a raised transverse ridge of hemispherical section and a small portion of a flat plate, the remainder of which has broken away and is missing. The outer end of the frame is curved upwards away from the rest of the frame. The underside is flat. There is no decoration. It is 23.9mm long, 19.3mm wide and 4.6mm thick. It weighs 2.58gm.
