A cast copper alloy Roman harness pendant dating from the late second or third century, AD 150 - 300. It has a heart shaped upper body below which is an extension in the form of a trefoil, the lower lobe of which narrows and extends downwards, terminating in a spherical knop. In the centre of the upper edge of the upper body is a circular suspension loop at ninety degrees to the plane of the body. The loop is incomplete. There is an angled triangular groove on each side of the suspension loop and a further groove beneath each of the side knops of the trefoil but no other decoration. The pendant has a smooth, dark brown patina. It is 41.1mm long, 20mm wide and 9.4mm thick. It weighs 7.74gm.
