A copper alloy unidentified object. The item is made of sheet metal folded over to make a thin rectangular shank. It is broken at both ends. The item flares at one end, somewhat resembling the flared end of a tweezer. The item is bent to 90 degrees at this end, but this is likely to be damage. The surface of the flared end contains silvering. Possibly Middle Saxon given the assemblage it was found with. The flared end is 5mm in width; the shank is 3mm in width and 1.5mm in thickness.
