An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman T-shaped brooch, circa 70-150 AD.
The wings are cylidrical, each with a raised vertical ridge midway along, one of which has rope decoration. These ridges are confined to the front. The bow is tapered, D-shaped in cross section and has a vertical ridge at its centre. The lower part of the bow is missing, as are the axis bar and pin. The object has a degraded matt green patina with some iron staining. Length of brooch: 23.63 mm..Length of wings: 39.65 mm. width of bow: 11.49 mm, tapering to 6.98 mm. Thickness of bow: 2.91 mm, Weight: 7.363 grams.
