A ceramic body sherd of Anglian or Anglo-Scandinavian date. The fabric is a light coarseware and dark grey at the core, oxidised to a pale brown at the surface. The interior surface is missing. Calcite is frequent and ill-sorted in the fabric (1.0-3.0mm) and visible at the surface. Other inclusions include spare iron-rich rounded grits (4.0mm), sparse mica, and rare clay pellets (1.0-2.0mm).
The vessel fragment is 27.3mm long, 19.7mm wide, 7.4mm thick and weighs 4.3g.
