A Roman enamelled copper alloy skeuomorphic plate brooch in the shape of a shoe. The shoe plate consists of one cell filled with degraded blue enamel. There is a small circular suspension loop with circular perforation at the heel. The catchplate is rectangular and broken. There are two semi-circular lugs, pierced by the axis bar which secures the pin. The pin is circular in section and curved so as to accommodate as much material as possible when worn. The brooch measures 39mm in length and 9mm in width.
