A cast copper-alloy strap or belt mount of Post-Medieval date. It is in the form of an acorn in its cup, with projecting knop at the top of the acorn and curving, right angled branch at the base of the cup. The acorn is decorated with multiple vertical grooves, while the cup has cross hatched decoration, both retaining traces of thickly applied gilding. On the concave back face the object has two integrally cast but incomplete cylindrical lugs, one at the top and one at the base of the plate. It measures 27.90mm in length, 12.54mm in width, 2.89mm in thickness and 2.64g in weight. This is a decorative mount from a belt or strap of Post-Medieval date, c.16th-17th centuries AD.
