Slightly distorted medieval copper alloy domed, cast and turned thimble. Near the base an engraved circumferential line. Above this the whole surface apart from a circular patch at the top is covered with a continuous spiral of rectangular indentations. Quite a heavy duty example: at the base the metal is 1mm thick. Cf. Egan 1998, nos. 829-31. Diameter c.20mm. Height 26mm. c.1400 - c.1450.
