Fragment of a cast lead-alloy item, possibly part of the rim from a large vessel such as a box. The fragment is flat and broadly rectangular, one long edge appears complete and is slghtly convex curved, the other is probably an old break. Both ends are broken with old breaks and one is bent back. Both sides are decorated with raised decoration in the form of lines and pellets running parallel to the complete edge. On both sides it is broadly similar with (going in from the complete long edge) two wide plain lines, a row of pellets, a thinner plain line then a broader band with a row of larger pellets flanked above and below by a row of smaller pellets with the larger pellets linked to the nearest small pellets by diagonal lines, giving the effect of a row of XXXX with pellets at the nodes. Below the broad band is a further thin plain line, a row of pellets and another thin plain line. The fragment is 50.7mm long, 18.8mm wide and 1.5mm thick; it weighs 8.94.

The date of this pioece is uncertain although it may be Post Medieval and be a small decorative box or other vessel.
