Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands) brooch.
The brooch consists of slightly curved open wings, spring now missing, which sit on top of a semi-circular protrusion from which emerges the bow. There is no sign of decorationon the brooch and it is missing its catchplate and pin. It is 22mm long, 18mm wide and 11mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 5.58grams.
