Lead alloy toy dog. Solid cast naturalistically modelled figure of a dog at 1:32 or 54mm scale. The animal wears a collar and was probably walking in alert pose with tail erect: most of the lower limbs and the tail are now lost. This object retains patches of white paint with the eyes and ears picked out in black. Possibly a novelty from a cracker; though an attractively realistic rendition, the solid construction rules out manufacture by the larger toymakers such as William Britains. Suggested date: Modern, 1920-1960.
