An incomplete Roman copper alloy spoon with mandolin shaped spoon dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. It is an example of Crummy's Type 3 'Spoon with Mandolin Shaped Bowl'. Most of the handle is missing, and only approximately one third of the bowl survives. The handle has an 'S'-shaped profile, having a small downward step to meet the bowl. The handle-end of the bow is rectangular in plan and convex. This widens to the break.
