A complete standing weight, of Medieval to Post Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1600).

The weight is sub triangular in shape, and rectangular in cross section. It consists of a flattened four sided pyramid, with a flat top. Both the top and bottom are rectangular in shape. The front and back are sub rectangular in shape and the sides are rectangular. A circular perforation (suspension hole) is present towards the top of the weight and runs from front to back. It has an internal diameter of 2.2 mm. The base has an irregular shaped concavity present.

The weight is 21.6 mm tall, 18.2 mm wide at the base, 11.9 mm wide at the top and 13.0 mm thick. It weighs 33.0 g (1.16 oz).

The weight is a light grey colour, with an even surface patina.

Weights can be hard to date due to being a functional artefact, forms and styles do not alter significantly over time.
