An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age or Roman Aesica variant brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 100. The brooch is missing one wing due to an old break, The surviving wing is cylindrical in form and the iron pin bar is visible within. It has a damaged tip. It features two pairs of incised vertical grooves, one pair near the tip of the wing and the other next to the bow. The head extends back into the bow, and curves along its length. It features two incised longitudinal groove which follow the curvature of the bow.

The lower bow is circular in plan and measures 18.06mm in diameter. It features a circular rivet visible in the centre, visible as a sub-circular projection on the reverse. The foot widens from the lower bow into a triangular shape with curving sides. It features a pattern of five circular perforations evenly spaced. The centre perforation has a circumferential groove running around the outside with two diagonal grooves flanking running to the bottom of the foot. The outer four perforations are grouped in twos, each pair surrounded by a moulded S shaped ridge with incised decorations. Above the central perforation there are two sub-oval incised fields with a stippled decoration within.

The brooch measures 34.22mm in length, 38.75mm maximum width, 7.17mm minimum width, 5.56mm maximum thickness, 2.29mm mminimum thickness and weighs 14.77g.
