An incomplete copper alloy shoe or clog clasp of post-medieval date. Roughly half of the clasp remains which is semi-circular in plan with a fish-tail projection extending from the rounded end. This fish-tail has been separated from the main object by a fairly recent break. The upper surface is decorated with a central ovate panel with evenly spaced triangular projections extending from the outer edge and bearing the letters "AN" within. Traces of lettering remain above and below this element though they cannot be determined. The lettering may refer to the manufacturer. A semi-circular laureate wreath is present where the main body narrow to the fish-tail projection. The decoration is mirrored on the reverse.
The metal has a mid reddish-brown patina and is worn. The clasp is 20mm long, 16.6mm wide, 0.8mm thick and weighs 1.3g.
