Part of a copper alloy Medieval or Post Medieval leg from a cooking vessel; a cauldron, dating from AD 1200 - 1600. Only the foot of the leg survives. It is moulded like an animal paw with three toes and a transverse moulding across the ankle. The leg is quite angular at the front. The reverse and base are concave giving the leg a C-shaped section. The metal has a patchy green patina and the break is patinated. There are grey possible soot deposits. The leg is 41.2mm long, 34.4mm wide and 22.2mm thick. 95.2g.
