BOOK FITTING

Unique ID: LVPL-3FA35E

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

An incomplete cast copper-alloy book fitting of Post-medieval date. It is a rectangular fitting which is broken at both ends due to old breaks. One end terminates in a semi-circular hole suggesting a hole for a rivet for attachment. There are signs of iron corrosion on the reverse of the object at this point. The other end terminates in bent over edge which is also broken. The front face is possibly decorated with wriggle-work (rocker arm) decoration along the outer edges of the object.

The decoration is similar to other objects recorded on the database, for example: LON-3BE95E.

The recorder has not seen the object and the identification is from the photograph only.
