An incomplete worked flint borer, of Late Neolithic dating (2700 BC to c. 2350 BC).
The borer is sub triangular in plan, with a semi circular cross section. It has been made from a piece of tertiary debitage as none of the original cortex is present. Both the dorsal and ventral surfaces display conchoidal ripples. The base of the borer has been deliberately broken at a diagonal. Retouch is present around the apex of the borer and can be classified as Short, Parallel, Semi-abrupt.
It measures 48.5 mm in length, a maximum width of 21.4 mm and is 3.8 mm thick. It weighs 4.3 g.
The flint is a mid grey colour, with no surface patination occurring.
