A complete Medieval cast copper-alloy single loop buckle, dating to c. AD 1250-1500. The buckle frame is D-shaped with a narrowed and offset strap bar; the sheet pin is still present wrapped around the pin bar. It is D shaped in section with a flat back. The pin narrows to a point. The outer and inner edges of the frame have been bevelled. The buckle measures 11.3mm long, 15mm wide, 2.5mm thick and weighs 1.28 grams. It has green patina and shows the remains of being silvered. see Whitehead ( 2003), p19, no. 53. for a similar buckle.
