An incomplete cast copper alloy Post Medieval double loop oval buckle, dating from AD c. 1500-1650. The remains of the buckle consist of one of the oval loops, still attached to the strap bar, which is flanked at either end with a small moulded knop; a simple copper alloy wire pin is still attached to the strap bar. One loop is missing.
It measures 14.3mm long,19.1mm wide, 3.1mm thick and weighs 2.58 grams. Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar buckles p54 which he dates to c.1500-1650 AD.
