A Prehistoric flint flake dating from the Neolithic to Bronze Age period (4000 to 800 BC). The flint is roughly cresentic in plan and triangular in cross section. The ventral surface has a bulb of percussion with small ripples emanating from it; and the dorsal surface has a blade removal scar. One edge has possible re-touching. The other edge is less uniform and may have been fractured due to damage at a later date, perhaps as a result of frost damage. The flint is a mid to pale gray in colour with white mottles. Length: 40mm; Width: 10mm; Thickness: 7mm; Weight 5.4g.
