A complete very worn Post Medieval copper alloy French double tournois of Louis XIII, 1610-1643 AD. Unknown mint. Discernable fragments of the legend on the obverse 'LOYS XIII' and 'OV' on the reverse have been used to idenity the coin. It has been marked with a small straight cut, which is approximately 10.6 mm in length. The coin is 19.7 mm in diameter, 1.1 mm thick and weighs 1.7 g.

Comparable to record SUR-B3D134.

This coin was found with KENT-17FEBB, KENT-03D977, KENT-155035, KENT-14BDF6 and KENT-13A11D. All of these coins have been marked with the straight cut. No explanation for this cut has yet been found.
