A four disc lead alloy cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. Three of the discs are connected by an integral ribbon while the fourth which has broken away from its ribbon remains attached to the lower disc. The seal has been straightened out. The outer disc attached to incomplete ribbon is stamped with a central harp within a shield surround by three pellets, one at each side. The motif is surrounded by a circumferential border. The central disc has been stamped with letters, possibly I G surrounding the letters T(C) within a circle which is off-centre. The third and fourth discs are worn with no visible decoration. The object has a mid-brown patina.
Cloth seals were in use between the 14th and 18th centuries (Egan, G. 1989 'Leaden Seals for Textiles - Some Archaeological Evidence Relating to Fabric and Trade' Costume No. 23).
