Post-medieval lead alloy dress hook. This object is lozenge shape in plan with a length of 26.14mm, a width of 24.74mm, a thickness of 3.66mm and weighs 8.28g. The main body of the fastener is cast in one piece. It is decorated with an integrally moulded rim, which follows the lozenge shape, within which is another raised line in a lozenge and within that a solid, raised lozenge. Between the outer rim and inner lozenge raised line are raised, globular dots. To the reverse of the object is an integrally cast bar or loop that runs transverse to the top of the lozenge. Beneath that, at the opposite apex of the lozenge, the object is raised into a knob, but so that it is not visible when viewed from the front. From this appears to be set a copper alloy shaft that has broken at some time in antiquity. This is probably the beginning of a hook, as this would have been much stronger than a lead hook.
