A complete copper-alloy probable strap fitting. Consisting of a rectangular part with a suspension loop holding a copper-alloy ring which has a split shafted object hanging from it. Measuring c73mm in total length.

The rectangular part measures 28mm in length and 17mm in width. The lower third is narrower, 7mm in width, and curves backwards to be attached to the back of the upper half with a rivet. This rivet could also have secured this object onto a strap of some kind, from which it could have hung. The ring hanging from the loop created measures 15mm in external diameter and 11mm in internal diameter. The split shafted object suspended from the ring has a circular suspension loop and both halves of the shaft are pressed together until their terminals when they flare outwards, forming hooks. It measures 42mm in length and 6mm in width and the suspension loop measures 11mm in diameter.

No parallel could be found for this probable strap fitting, it is perhaps most likely to be medieval in date.
