An incomplete copper-alloy openwork decorative fitting dating to the second or third centuries AD. The mount comprises a flat oval plate decorated with three spirals of openwork decoration. A flat, rectangular plate extends from one end of the plate. Part of this plate is bent back on itself. This appears to be post-depositional damage. Corrosion products (possibly mineralised leather?) adhere to the upper surface of this rectangular plate, giving it a darker, discoloured appearance. The mount measures 60mm in length and a maximum of 62mm in width. It has a thickness of 0.25mm. It weighs 7.6 grams.
