A fragmentary silver dress pin from the 16th Century. The silver pin has a spherical silver-gilt head, which is hollow. The head is divided into two hemispheres by a plain band, each hemisphere is decorated with three filigree wire circles around central knops, interspersed with granules. Another knop is located at the head of the pin-head. The pin is of drawn silver wire, broken along its length where it would originally have been bent in use. The pin is therefore along 32mm in length. A similar example can be seen in the Treasure Report 1998-99, no.228.
