Early Medieval, cast copper alloy strap end of Thomas' Class B Type 4, 'multi headed'. The upper part of the body is oval and plain but for incised lines down each of its edges. Below this the body narrows to for a rod-like bar decorated by two animal's heads, one at the junction of the two sections represented by two eyes set on low projections. At the end of the rod the other animal's head is marked by an increase in width, two deeply drilled eyes set on low bosses and surrounded by pairs of angled, parallel lines. Two nostrils are shown on the nose. Between the heads are two bands of three transverse grooves separated by a plain zone which might have born incise longitudinal lines. Through the split end are two rivet holes, both now empty. Condition fair with much loss of surface. Length 38.2mm, Width 10.6mm narrowing to 5.5mm. Thickness 3.0mm, Mass 2.39g.
