Object type certainty: Possibly

A cast iron spherical artefact, possibly a Post Medieval cannon ball, but more probably a Post Medieval to Modern crushing ball from stone crushing equipment, a mill, a bearing or a similar industrial device. The weight and size at 2.75 inches and 2lb 13 oz. fall half-way between the parameters for two known types of cannon, the Minion (3.5 inch bore, 4 lb ball) and the falcon (2.5 inch bore, 2lb ball). It is 70.1 mm in diameter and weighs 1277gm. The ball is very regular and the metal is in good condition.
