A fragment of a probable Post-Medieval (1600-1700) copper alloy spur, consisting of an incomplete section close to the end, with part of the arm and one loop-half of a figure-of-eight terminal. There is a worn break to either end. It measures 28.35x14.25x(max.)4.03mm and weighs 4.95g.
The fragment is slightly curving in profile and the 'loop' end is slightly thickened (4.03mm). The arm measures 8.15x3.00mm in cross-section, and is triangular in cross-section. The loop is offset and projects below the arm.
The loop measures 9.84mm at its widest and has a central hole c.3.4mm in diameter.
No original patina survives and the metal is a purplish-brown with patches of light green corrosion product.
