A copper-alloy plate from a medieval to post-Medieval book clasp.
The sub-rectangular plate flares at the bottom end, where there are two circular rivet holes. Moulded in low relief, the decoration comprises three transverse bands, located in the upper half of the plate's top surface, each consisting of two parallel ridges and a central line of pellets. At the apex of the plate is a parallel-sided rearward hook with squared-off end.
