Cast copper alloy single loop Medieval buckle. The buckle is oval in plan with a sub-recangular cross-section and slightly offset strap bar. The outside of the loop opposite the strap bar is widened and moulded on both sides with four raised transverse lines with an oblique lobed knop at either end. The pin is missing. Dimensions 17mm long, 17mm wide, 2.2mm thick and weighs 2.2g, Cf. Whitehead; Buckles 1250-1800; (2003) p22: No 87-88. Circa 1250-1400 AD.
