A Roman copper-alloy bell shaped stud of Allason-Jones type 1.
The solid-cast object has a circular-sectioned lower portion, the base of which is marked by a moulded rim. At the top, the object flares into a dish. A truncated-conical projection extends vertically upwards from the centre of this dish, with a circular depression at the centre of its otherwise flat upper surface. Located at the centre of the object's underside, contained within a rectangular socket, is part of the iron shaft.
