A discoidal, convex front probably post-medieval copper alloy button dating to the period AD 1540-1700. The button is decorated with clockwise multi-bladed impeller and a raised centre pellet. The back of the button is flat. The attachment loop is a rectangular-section trapezoid shape with a rounded end. The shank has an off-centre hole. The shank is similar to that of Roman buttons. Cf Read B, 2005, Metal Buttons c 900 BC - cAD 1700, Portcullis Publishing, no 256 (p66) and no 21 (p9).
