An incomplete silver posy ring of medieval date. The outer hoop is engraved with an inscription which reads: INGI.LLI.AIN.JUE. The black letter inscription is not sufficiently clear to attempt a transliteration or a translation of the sentence. Additionally the condition of the object, as broken, makes it difficult to get a clear reading. Each letter group is separated by a small engraved foliate motif. A small cast decorative motif of a flower, heart, flower is integrally cast into the hoop.
The ring dates to the 15th century.
See LEIC-66CD92, DEV-742F63 and LIN-3553F7 for rings of a similar date and design.
