A copper alloy medieval (AD c.1200-c.1400) harness pendant suspension mount. Overall, the object measures 27.4mm long, 20.4mm wide and 5.0mm thick. It weighs 4.40g. The mount has a foliate outline and is formed from a flat plate (1.7mm thick). At each corner is a diagonally projecting sub-oval lobe. Between the top two lobes is a triangular shaped point. The top corner lobes each have a smaller lobe projecting diagonally outwards and downwards, while the bottom corner lobes each have a lobe projecting diagonally outwards and upwards. These smaller lobes create a concave C-shaped edge on each side of the mount. There are two rivet holes in the centre of the mount, one between the top pair of lobes and the other between the bottom pair of lobes. The bottom hole still contains a copper alloy rivet. The front surface of the mount has been gilded and details on the lobes have been produced with grooved lines. The two arms of the hinge project down from the centre of the bottom edge of the mount. Both are turned through 90 degrees and would have held a bar connecting it to the rest of the pendant.
