Medieval copper alloy livery badge in the shape of a boar, advancing left on grass, over a torse. The boar was the symbol of Richard III and was used by his household and followers. This type of badge may have indicated the wearers allegiance or affinity to the king. The reverse of the badge has the remains of four attachment mechanisms, probably the lugs and catchplates of two pins (although this is not certain). The badge measures 43.6mm in length, 31.4mm at the widest point and weighs 23.5g.
