An incomplete silver dress fastener. Cast as a single component, the body is sub-traingular in plan and on one end projects a rounded attachment loop. Extra casting material is added in the shape of an X on one side to reinforce the narrowing of the fastener between the body and the attachment loop. The other end of the object comes to a blunt point which is flanked by two unevenly sized eyelets. The edges of the body have a scalloped effect, now mostly worn away.

The fastener appears to fall into Read's Early post-medieval Class H, Type 4 (Read 2008, 122), other examples of which include SF-F95233. It is likely to date to the 16th Century.

The dress fastener meets the criteria for Treasure in terms of age and precious metal content.
