A group of five worked flakes:

1. A complete flint worked flake of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains two predominant negative scars with corresponding arises. The proximal edge has been abruptly blunted, all other edges contain irregular, semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is smooth and concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end with ripples of percussion emanating from it. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake

The flint is a light grey in colour with dark grey and cream inclusions throughout.

Length: 29.69mm, Width: 25.69mm, Thickness: 8.02mm, Weight: 4.8g.

2. A complete flint worked flake/scraper of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface has covering scaled flaking and a minor amount of cortex retained along the distal left hand edge. All edges contain irregular abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. There is a shallow negative scar situated on the bulb with ripples of percussion emanating from the bulb. The lithic retains a minor amount of cortex and is therefore a secondary flake.

The flint is a light brown in colour with cream inclusions throughout. The cortex is a creamish white in colour.

Length: 17.63mm, Width: 4.46mm, Weight: 1.9g.

3. A complete flint worked flake of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in profile and bi-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains three predominant negative scars with corresponding arises. The left hand edge has been abruptly blunted, all other edges contain regular abrupt retouch. The ventral surface has a large bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end and three shallow negative scars situated at the distal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.

The flint is a dark brown in colour with light and dark grey inclusions throughout.

Length: 27.13mm, Width: 22.9mm, Thickness 8.7mm, Weight: 6.6g.

4. A complete flint worked flake of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in profile and plano-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains two predominant negative scars with corresponding arises. The left and right hand proximal edges have been tapered in to create a centrally projecting spur. The right hand edge contains regular semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is smooth with ripples of percussions emanating from the distal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.

The flint is light and grey in colour with cream and dark grey inclusions throughout.

Length: 15.24mm, Width: 17.02mm, Weight: 1.1g.

5. A complete flint worked flake of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-triangular in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface is smooth with ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end. The proximal end has been abruptly blunted and all other edges contain fine low angle retouch. The ventral surface is smooth and slightly concave with ripples of percussions emanating from the proximal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.

The flint is light and grey in colour with dark grey inclusions throughout.

Length: 23.25mm, Width: 21.75mm, Thickness 2.62mm, Weight: 1.2g.
