A complete copper alloy finger ring of medieval date. The finger ring consists of a circular, D-sectioned hoop which widens to a double bezel. The shoulders to either side of the bezel are decorated with foliate style designs and house central circular recesses which may have held coloured gems. The bezel itself is formed of two large parallel ovate cells which are likely to have also held gemstone. Both ovals have ribbed external borders. The interior of the hoop is flat and undecorated.
The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The finger ring is 21.7mm in diameter; the hoop is 6.3mm wide and 2,4mm thick; the bezel is 14.1mm wide and 3.1mm thick; and the ring weighs 5.2g.
