A cast copper alloy object of uncertain function probably dating to the Post-Medieval period. The object is circular in plan and sub-spherical in form. The base of the object is flat and is pierced with a slightly off-centre sub-square perforation. The perforation has an internal diameter of 3.39mm. From the base the object flares outwards and upwards to its widest point which measures 27.60mm in diameter. The sides of the object then curve inwards forming a 'neck' which is 15.87mm in diameter. The top of the 'neck' terminates with an uneven break which appears to have occurred during antiquity. Above and below the widest point the object is decorated with a single circumferential groove. The object is hollow and has a mid-green patina.

The function of the object is uncertain. It is in the form of a small vessel however the perforation at the base makes this an impractical use. Another possible element is a decorative fitting from the base of a chair or other furnature. However a parallel has not been found. The patina and form of the object suggest a date from the Post-Medieval period onwards however without finding a parallel this cannot be proven.
