A complete mid to late Medieval copper-alloy single loop D-shaped buckle, dated c.1250-1500 AD. The buckle consists of the D-shaped buckle frame and D-shaped in section with the outer edge being broader than the sides. It has an offset and narrowed strap bar with a copper alloy sheet pin with two transverse ridges at the point where it is folded around the strap bar. For a broadly parallel published example see Whitehead's, 'Buckles 1250-1800', 2003, p. 19, Number 53.
