A medieval silver coin: a Scottish penny of William I "The Lion" (AD 1165 - 1214), short cross and stars phase B, dating from AD 1205-1230; moneyer: Henri le Rus; mint: unknown.

Reference: The coin is similar to Spink, Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands, 2003, page 14, number 5031 but there is no mint name, and both legends contain pellets in the middle of words. The coin has a diameter of 18.4mm, is 0.8,mm thick and weighs 1.32g. It is double struck on the obverse.
